Phase 1 Construction Works Commence at IL Monte Galala-Sokhna More than 15 Leading Construction Companies bid for the project launched by Tatweer Misr

Tatweer Misr, the Egyptian real estate developer, announced recently the start of construction work of their flagship project IL Monte Galala, the leading touristic mixed used development in Ain Sokhna. The company has launched a tender for the construction of 600 residential units, as part of phase I. More than 15 leading construction companies have applied for the tender, with construction work slated to begin next October.

Already, the civil work is progressing rapidly at construction site with land leveling, bearing walls and road construction being finalized. In addition, the first man-made lagoons in Sokhna mountains is currently under construction. By end of the project IL Monte Galala will have 6 lagoons with a total area of 40,000 square meters and around 3 kilometers of sandy beaches.

With an investment of 8 billion EGP, over the coming decade, IL Monte Galala-Sokhna is to date the largest mixed use development in Ain Sokhna. Phase I of the project will see the company deliver over 1600 residential and hotel units by 2019. Today, IL Monte Galala-Sokhna is positioned to become a local and international destination of choice offering unparalleled activities and lifestyle options.

Commenting on the progress of construction works in IL Monte Galala-Sokhna, Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, the Managing Director and Member of the Board of Tatweer Misr said: “The construction work at IL Monte Galala-Sokhna is progressing at a fast pace. With all preparation works, such as land levelling, road construction and so on having reached the final stages. 15 reputable and leading construction companies have bided for phase 1 of the project which will commence on time in October which reflects the trust we were able to gain in the Egyptian market in a record time. We definitely set new benchmark of what mixed use touristic projects should be executed on the charming land of our beloved Egypt,"

Adding to this Eng. Baher Ayoub, Member of the Board and Chief Project Officer, Tatweer Misr explained in more detail that “The construction work at IL Monte Galala, which will be implemented throughout the rest of 2016, comprises the construction of internal road network to connect different areas of phase I, in addition to land leveling to identify different levels of buildings, as well as road bridges and man-made lagoons. This also goes hand in hand with the deployment of utilities and concrete works of phase I. In only one month, we were able to dig 100,000 m3 of wastes and dust, covering 700,000 square meters of land. Under the supervision of advisory committee of the project, crushers and screeners will recycle the wastes to be used in landfilling and construction of roads"

This phase is one of 3 phases to be successively launched within the coming years, including units with different sizes and a comprehensive package of services and value-added amenities. By 2019 1600 units will be delivered representing the first phase of Il Monte Galala – Sokhna.
